Every decision you and I make today will, in some way, determine the life available to us tomorrow. I don’t understand why we spend a lot of time thinking about yesterday more than today yet our future is a summation of our actions today, not what we did or did not do yesterday. Yes, you can learn from the past, but what you do today, not yesterday, is the only thing that will determine your success tomorrow.
Though many of us want to have better lives in the future, we tend to act similarly each day, and this keeps us from making the significant progress we want to make. We often talk to the same people every day, do the same tasks week to week and get complacent with our actions and words. Instead of making choices that propel us forward, we tend to make the same default decisions again and again.
Choosing a today that values love, honesty, self-control, humility and generosity will mean greater opportunities to love, serve, and be loved tomorrow.
You may not have the career of your dreams and you may even be more qualified to lead an organization/company than the one in charge, but God calls you to be faithful in all that you do, not just what you aspire to do. Today you may be a servant, but tomorrow God could use your years of service to advance you to a great leadership position.
The only thing that matters now is that you envision how you want your future to look and then take the actions necessary today in building it. No reason to spend time on yesterday, as yesterday is only filled with regrets, remorse, guilt, etc. Only your actions of today will impact and ensure your future! The next thing you do or don’t do is what will create the future for you! Taking any action to build your client base is better than none at all. And the more action you take, the more your future will look like you want it to.
Make an effort to spread a little more love and light to a few people you would ordinarily ignore. By sharing a little more love, more love will make its way back to you, and you’ll brighten someone else’s day at the same time.
Give yourself permission to be who you really no matter who’s around.
Rather than moving from one day to the next without daring to dream, take a moment today to make a quick wish. It could be a huge wish like paying off your debts or getting better service at the restaurant.
Accomplish one task. One small step in the direction of progress every day is enough to get the momentum moving for you to accomplish your goals and get where you really want to be in life.
Give without expecting anything in return because expectation lowers the power of giving. When we offer conditional generosity, we get the same from others, and we find ourselves trapped in a cycle of obligation.
Pick at least one person today who has wronged and forgive them; not because it’s ok for them to act the way they’ve acted, but because your quality of life will improve when you forgive and forget.
What we choose today will determine tomorrow’s opportunities. Now, let’s go out make some good choices.
