This has been an especially challenging and draining year. All we want is to see the end of it, even if it means giving up our plans. But I am here to tell you today not to give into our negative chatter and give up.
I want to encourage you to brace yourself, push yourself with all you have because you have already done all you needed to and your reward is only a step away. Tell yourself that no matter what happens, you will stay the course and see yourself to the finish line.
Did you know that the point in every race where the majority drops out is said to be approximately the last five percent of the race?
Apparently the drop outs’ hurdle is the last stretch of the race where the end remains hidden from view. It is here where athletes have been working for a long time that all the major mental and physical obstacles set in. Doubt, anxiety, disbelief, exhaustion, dehydration, hunger, the feeling of no end in sight and physiological stress compromise rational thought and convince many to throw in the towel. Just as night is somehow darkest just before dawn breaks, so too is the race toughest right before it ends.
When you feel like giving up remind yourself of the validity of your dreams and visions and hopes for your life and why it is crucial that you don’t give up especially now. Don’t buy into the lies around you or focus on why you can’t finish what you set out to do.
It may seem senseless or difficult right now but there’s nothing better than having the joy and satisfaction of knowing you’ve finished what you set out to do.
Just in case you didn’t know it is right here that miracles are found. It is right here that legends are made. It is right here; when you feel like it is over that you will experience the breakthrough that will change your life forever. All you have to do is talk yourself into having faith for just one more step to the finish line. Rest when you must, pray when you feel discouraged but just don’t lose your focus.
