Lies The Devil Wants You To Believe

“Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil.” 1 John 3:8, to justify his deception.  He will use your fear to keep you from God.  Don’t believe the Enemy.

Here are more lies he uses to sabotage your faith.

“I Am Angry”

“For His anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime” Psalm 30:5 Yes, Jesus did get angry and yes, God gets angry but that doesn’t mean that God is angry. But the Devil wants you to think otherwise. If we believe that He is angry, then it gives us reason to judge others and doubt God’s unconditional love for us. When Jesus was angry in the temple courts at the moneychangers, and drove out all who were buying and selling there, He demonstrated his justifiable frustration for the deception and wrong taking place in God’s house. But his anger only lasted a moment, and He turned that situation into a valuable lesson for the all involved, and all who read Scripture.

“I Am Far From You”

“The LORD is near to the brokenhearted And saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Psalm 34:18 The Devil wants you to believe that Jesus is far away so that we become out of touch and disconnected in our relationship with our Heavenly Father. If he gets you to believe that Jesus is far from us, then he can also get you to think he is against us. But this is so far from the truth. As this beautiful verse from the Book of Psalms reminds us, the Lord is near, especially to the brokenhearted. The Holy Spirit offers us God’s complete presence. We are not left as orphans but are embraced as worthy children of God

“I Love You, Conditionally”

“But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved” Ephesians 2:4-5 The Enemy wants you to believe that the love of Jesus comes with conditions. But remember, God is love and because of that love, Jesus sacrificed himself for OUR sins. He that was without sin sacrificed himself because of His love for you. The Devil wants you to believe that we are being set up by God and that our sins turn God away from loving us. No matter what happens, we cannot be separated from His love for us.

“I Will Not Forgive You”

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness” 1 John 1:9. No matter what sins you’ve committed and how far you believe those sins have taken you off course with God, when we turn to Jesus, He is faithful, not unforgiving. God never said we were bound by our sins, but in the new creation of Christ we receive forgiveness. It’s that same forgiveness that led to Jesus’ death on a cross, and it is because of God’s mercy and Grace that we are saved from all unrighteousness and all the Devil’s empty promises.

“I Experience No Joy”

“In Your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” Psalm 16:11. This verse from the Book of Psalms is a perfect example of what a relationship with Jesus is like, full of joy but the Devil wants you to believe that joy is absent in our relationship with him. When we see images of Jesus and even of God, they are often depicted with serious expressions, disconnecting them from us. Don’t buy into this lie. Remember God, is love and He only wants happiness for us.
